Tour Day 3

Tower of London / Spital Fields Market / East End Food Tour

Today started with the Opening Ceremony of Keys at the Tower of London. Being one of the first to enter before the crowds rushed in, we got to see the Crown Jewels and the White Tower basically empty. It was very relaxed and we were able to go through the exhibits at our own pace.

After that, we made our way to Spitalfields Market and wandered around before meeting our tour guide for our East End Food Tour. We had everything from Fish and chips, Indian cuisine, Salt beef Beigels, and for desert -  Humble Crumble. Walking to each of our destinations, we passed by a lot of graffiti art which made things more interesting and fun.

After the end of the tour day, we had scheduled an evening Thames River Cruise. Because we had time to kill before then, we decided to take Jamie's advice and checked out Leadenhall Market and the view from Horizon 22, both of which were on the way to the dock.

We had a chance to relax by the pier and admire the view of the Tower of London as we waited for our cruise. The cruise was wonderful - being able to watch the sunset as London sights slowly lit up was one of the most memorable experiences of the trip.

Tour Day 4

St. James Park / Westminster Abbey / Churchill War Rooms

After we had breakfast, we stopped by Blank Street Coffee for our daily coffee fix before meeting up with the group. Our first activity was a walk through St. James Park - where we saw lots of swans, ducks, and flowers. It was a beautiful walk on our way to Westminster Abbey.

Once there, we met a local tour guide who walked us through the key details of the Abbey.  There were many interesting sights, like the Coronation Chair, the Grave of the Unknown Warrior, the stained glass windows, and the Royal Tombs.

We had a small break for lunch where we decided to grab food from Pret a Manger and walk through the park a bit more, just to be outside. We met back up with the group afterwards and walked over to the Churchill War  Rooms. It was interesting to see the setup of the offices, bedrooms, kitchen, and dining room. We were able explore at our own pace since it was the end of the tour day.
